WHAT IS IT:
4180 - Paint Remover is a soybean-based paint remover. The remover is made from natural soybean ingredients, making it biodegradable and non-toxic. The product safely softens and detaches multiple layers of paint and coatings, allowing it to be scrapped or washed away. Aerogreen 4180 is an environmentally friendly paint remover that is low in odor, non-hazardous, non-flammable, and non-corrosive, formulated to replace hazardous solvents such as Methylene Chloride, Mineral Spirits, MEK, Naphtha, Toluene, and other similar solvents used in paint removal.
WHAT IS IT USED FOR:
It is a liquid paint remover developed to remove industrial paints and coatings, including water-- reducible paints and primers, lacquers, acrylic enamels, alkyd paints, urethanes, epoxies, powder coatings, inks, adhesives, and a variety of other coatings from many types of substrates, including steel, cast iron, aluminum, brass, concrete, masonry, and plastics. Not for use on Automotive enamels.
HOW IT WORKS:
It works by penetrating through the old coating to break the bond of the coating to the substrate. Instead of dissolving the coating. This process, called delaminating, is safer to use and allows more accessible collection of the paint solids residue for an environmentally friendly method of clean up and disposal.
APPLICATION GUIDELINES:
Use as received. Apply Aerogreen 4180 Paint Remover with a nylon or synthetic brush or a low-pressure pump sprayer to cover the entire area. Do not dilute. Test in a small area to determine the appropriate amount of time required to lift the paint for best results. Allow 30-60 minutes for the coating to be loosened. Once the paint has loosened, remove the paint by scraping it with a putty knife, cloth, or nylon pad. A pressure washer can also remove the paint and rinse the surface. Allow the surface to dry, and follow with Aerogreen 4110 Paint Prep to clean the surface and remove any oils before re-coating.
INSTRUCTIONS:
After applying Aerogreen 4180, the paint should loosen, as the picture on the left depicts. Remove the loosened paint with a putty knife, cloth, nylon pad, or pressure washer.
COMPATIBILITY:
Practical on oil-based, powder coat, and latex paint. It can be used as a hand wipe, with a pressure washer rinse (1,000-3500psi), or in batch immersion systems (cold or heated agitated immersion tanks). The safe soybean formula contains no caustic alkalis to burn skin or eyes. Simple clean-up; just rinse with water.
SAFETY/CAUTION:
Rubber gloves are recommended to prevent drying of the skin. Goggles are recommended to protect eyes if splashing is expected. When heated above 125 F, mechanical or local ventilation is required. Wear a rain suit and boots to dry clothes when using the product in steam cleaning and/or pressure washing applications. Harmful if swallowed. Avoid getting into the eyes. If contact occurs, flush with running water. If irritation persists, get medical attention. It may cause skin dryness with prolonged use; wash hands with cold water and apply a hand lotion. Testing a small part before full-scale operation is recommended for sensitive aluminum alloys.
